Meet Shelley at: Get Lit Writers’ Series

Brought to you by The Alexandra Writers Centre:

Ever After

Exploring love stories, romance and other literary kinks

A tale as old a time, true as it can be…Romance has captured the hearts of readers for centuries. Love of different persuasions are deeply embedded in literature, may they be of the unrequited, forbidden, old flame kinds (and anything in between). It’s little surprise that love stories continue to dominate the publishing market.

From classic novels to contemporary fiction, unforgettable love stories have the power to transport us to different worlds, evoke deep emotions, and leave a lasting impact.

Spend the day with us exploring the power of romance and learning how to wield it. We’ll discover what it takes to write a love story for the ages…or for the weekend. Let’s deep dive into the meet-cutes, the will they-won’t theys, all the spicy bits, and find our writerly happily ever after.

Continuing Education

I completed a screenwriting certificate at George Brown College in the summer of 2023. The program consisted of Screenwriting One, Two, Three, as well as a comprehensive Dialogue Writing course. It’s been exciting learning feature film writing skills. As part of the curriculum, I’ve been writing a script for a Chicago cop story, titled The Good Boy, which will also be a book. Can’t wait to share this mystery thriller story with my readers.

Guest Blog Posts

I had the pleasure of writing a guest blog post for BookBub. The post relates to the anthology: Hugs, Kisses and Mistletoe Wishes. The subject matter will appeal to authors; how we boosted our anthology’s retailer ranking to #1. Check it out here on the: BookBub Partner Blog.
